Local August Events

One of the best parts of summer is enjoying all of the local events with all of your friends and family. Make sure to mark your calendar for these exciting activities that people of all ages will enjoy this season.
On August 8 ^th , head out to Fresno Chafee Zoo for Producers Dairy Ice Cream Zoofari! From 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., cool down and enjoy the all you can eat ice cream fundraiser. You will have the chance to enjoy unlimited ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbets, smoothies, and sundaes, all with zoo-centric names, such as Mint Monkeys ‘n Cream, Rocky Toad, Cockatoo Cookie Dough, and more. Enjoy your frozen treat while strolling through the zoo and learning more about your favorite animals. There will also be kid friendly entertainment including local mascots and live music.
Fig Fest 2015 is happening on Saturday, August 15 ^th , and is not an event that you will want to miss out on. The 12 ^th annual festival will feature Food Network Celebrity and Bravo TV Chef Fabio Viviani. You will have the chance to enjoy fig inspired recipes and delicious craft brews and wines from some of California’s best chefs, food purveyors, breweries, and wineries.
The 55 ^th Annual Fresno Greek Fest is coming back to St. George Greek Orthodox Church from August 28 ^th through the 30 ^th . This year’s event will be bigger and better from events in the past, and will offer three full days of food, fun, and entertainment. There will also be more than 40 Greek themed vendors and additions to the Festival, including kids’ play area, cooking demonstrations, art tours, and more.
