- Avoid cleaning sidewalks, patios, and driveways with the hose. Instead use a broom to save up to 18 gallons of water per minute.
- Do not let the faucet run while you are brushing your teeth or shaving. While shaving, fill the sink basin with a small amount of water to rinse off the razor.
- Do not scrape pots or pans under running water to clean them. Instead, soak them in soapy water.
- Fix any leaks that you have in your home. Even a small leak from a faucet can waste up to 2,000 gallons of water a month.
- Replace all of the old toilets throughout your home with new, low-flow models. Not only will each toilet save 38 gallons of water a day, but you may also qualify for a rebate.
